Horror comedies are nothing new. There's a genre known as "zombie horror comedy" that's been around as long as zombies have. It’s hard to ignore that horror comedies are also having a moment in pop culture. So if you want to see some really scary movies with a side order of laughs, here are my favorite horror-comedy flicks.

11. Zombieland
If you're a fan of zombiemovies but haven't seen Zombieland yet, then this is the movie for you. It's a sequel to Shaun of the Dead and this time around it follows Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), Wichita (Woody Harrelson), Tallahassee (Emma Stone), and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) as they try to survive in Brooklyn during what seems like an apocalypse.
The movie is funny because it makes fun of itself while still being pretty scary at times too. There are some great lines in this movie that will have your mouth hanging open as you laugh with friends about how hilarious everything is happening on screen.
10. Shaun of the Dead
Shaun of the Dead is a 2004 British horror comedy film directed by Edgar Wright and written by Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg. The film stars Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, and Lucy Davis.

The plot follows a group of friends who must fight against zombies while dealing with their problems in life. The director's self-references are obvious throughout this film, but it's still one of my favorites because it has great characters and humor.
9. Dead Alive
The story of the film is that a young man lives in the service of his mother until he finds love. When he is completely free that he thinks you will live your life. But when instead of freedom he has to avenge his mother's murder. Because zombies have spread everywhere and thus the freedom of this young man becomes a test.
8. Tucker & Dale vs. Evil
Tucker & Dale vs Evil is a 2010 comedy horror movie that takes its cues from the classic horror genre. The film follows two well-meaning hillbillies who are mistaken for murderous backwoods slashers by a group of teenage boys after they rescue them from their car wreck. The film was directed by Eli Craig and stars Alan Tudyk, Tyler Labine, Katrina Bowden, Jesse Moss (who plays Tucker), Julia Stiles (as Dale), and David Arquette as an escaped prisoner.
The film's plot centers around Tucker and Dale who work in the woods at night with their friend named Armpit (played by Bill Murray). They accidentally run over a man named Buddy with their truck but don't notice him until later when he comes back to life again.
7. Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead
Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead is the sequel to 2009's Dead Snow, which was a hilarious zombie horror parody. The film follows a group of Swedish soldiers who encounter their German enemies in an abandoned ski resort just as they're about to launch an attack on a nearby town where they hope to find survivors. While this may sound like your average war movie, it's anything but instead of focusing on battles and carnage, we get our characters engaging in lighthearted activities like drinking beer, which makes for some great laughs throughout the movie.

6. Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse
Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse is a comedy about a group of young scouts who are forced to fight for their lives against a zombie outbreak. It’s part parody, part horror movie, and all over the place. This film has everything you could want in a horror comedy.
Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse is one of those movies that you can watch with your friends or family members who don't like horror films at all.
5. Baskin
Baskin is a Turkish horror movie that tells the story of a group of cops who go to a remote location to investigate a missing person's case. It's not your typical horror movie, but it does have some elements in common with other movies like The Shining or The Conjuring.
The plot centers on two detectives (Yasemin Dogan and Cem Yilmaz) who must find an old woman named Zekiye before she dies from cancer or gets killed by one of her patients at the hospital where she works. As you can guess from that description, this isn't exactly an easy task it involves traveling through caves filled with bats and spiders. This sounds pretty scary but doesn't worry there are plenty of laughs along the way as well.

4. Warm Bodies
Warm Bodies is a 2013 American science fiction romance film directed by Jonathan Levine and based on the novel of the same name by Isaac Marion. The film stars Nicholas Hoult, Teresa Palmer, John Malkovich, Dave Franco, Rob Corddry, and Analeigh Tipton.
The film follows R your Dead whose soul has been claimed by a zombie named Julie. They fall in love but cannot be together because of their different bodies until they find out that her brain was transplanted into his body while she was still alive.
3. The Cabin in the Woods
If you’re looking for a horror comedy with a lot of humor and some great actors, The Cabin in the Woods is the one for you. The movie was directed by Drew Goddard, who also wrote the screenplay. 
The plot revolves around five friends who go camping together at Lake Campground where they discover something evil lurking inside its mysterious cabin (or something like that). Their investigations lead them on a journey through time where they encounter ancient gods who want revenge on humanity because we destroyed their world thousands of years ago.
2. Temors
It's also a great horror movie about a community in a small desert town in the southwest being haunted by some giant demons underground. As soon as the sound of footsteps or any noise falls on the ground, these devils immediately run in that direction and attack their prey underground. There are many comedy scenes in this movie. Overall the movie turned out to be a great comedy and horror movie.
1. An American Werewolf in London
An American Werewolf in London is a 1981 horror comedy film directed by John Landis and starring David Naughton, Griffin Dunne, Jenny Agutter, and Brian Glover. The story follows two American college students who are attacked by a werewolf on a hiking trip in England.
The movie was not well received at the time of its release but has since become a cult classic among horror fans thanks to its unique blend of humor and scary moments not to mention how awesomely bad it looks.
